GAV 2 Week Collections (and probably closing)

Ram Charan tried to do a different film (by picking a family concept that we have seen before quite a few times) and it seems he will return to doing more mass films after the result of this. Credit must be given to BLOCKBUSTER Bandla Ganesh and the Mega family for the excellent planning as they released the film perfectly with 5 straight holidays. If it weren't for those holidays.....let's not go there. Anyway, like my Aagadu collections post, here is my post of collections with no strong basis whatsoever.

2 Weeks Collections
Nizam - 10.52
Ceded - 6.98
Guntur - 3.04
UA - 2.91
East - 2.26
Krishna - 2.02
West -1.94
Nellore - 1.44
Total AP/Nizam - 31.11 crores
Karnataka - 3.44
Overseas - 3.24
ROI - 0.75
Worldwide Total: 38.54 crores

I might change these collections later not because I feel like it, but because I must account for the interest rates after people put this film in the Swiss bank. But this is the total I have now for 2 weeks. It is less than 40 and probably will finish less than 40, so it is a flop. You may even say disaster because this is all it could make with holidays. If you want to believe it, believe it. If not, don't.

Aagadu Collections

Since everyone is doing their own excel sheet collections, I decided that I will do random research with no bearing whatsoever and produce my version of the collections for Aagadu.

Worldwide Total Collections
Nizam 8.97
Ceded 3.5
Guntur 2.77
UA 2.10
East 1.93
West 1.75
Krishna 1.58
Nellore 1.01
AP/Nizam Total: 23.61 crores
KA: 4.01
ROI: 1.95
OS: 8.75
Total Worldwide: 38.32 crores

So basically it is a disaster especially in India. Hats off to Seenu Vytla who couldn't even make 40 crores, doing a commercial film with Mahesh Babu. You decide whether these collections makes sense to you or not. This is my tally until some producer or distributor decides to release full detailed collections. All I can say is these numbers make more sense than ABO's ever will.

RGV's Short Circuit

Ram Gopal Varma continues to outdo himself with his unique pursuits and mind-boggling cinematography. His latest venture is unprecedented - whether that is a good or bad thing you will see for yourself. He calls it a short film, but I call it a short circuit (of the mind). He made a 3 minute long clip of feet. Lakshmi Manchu's feet. It seems Lakshmi Manchu finally realized she can not speak Telugu or act in roles where she isn't some kind of witch, so she resorted to being a foot model. The biggest applause is how RGV still manages to use the background score he uses for every movie in this one also and tries to create the same intensity about feet. Honestly, I am just glad that he didn't make a full length film about it. If, for some reason, you still want to see this "film", it is below.

Hats Off To ABO Pt II

Andhra Box Office is back at it. They have been working hard with the excel sheets of Govindudu Andarivaadele. They recently realized that they forgot about Aagadu so they released the worldwide closing share.

According to ABO, Aagadu is such a disaster that the collections the theaters made in ROI (rest of India) were returned to the general public it seems. What a wonder! This is the most ultimate excel deduction I have ever seen and hats off to ABO for their commitment against Mahesh.

As you can see, according to ABO, Aagadu collections lost shares from the 1st week to closing - going from 1.45 - 1.40 crores in ROI. This is the most courageous attempt at excel deductions I have seen in recent times.

123telugu Article of the Day

In case you didn't see what is so great about this article, I will point it out to you. Look at the first line: "Young director Harish Shankar, who is riding high with back to back hits of 'Mirapakai' and 'Gabbar Singh'". It is extraordinary how the writer forgot the remarkably astonishing and revolutionary cinematic achievement that was Ramayya Vasthavayya, which was so remarkable that it was ahead of its time and became a disaster at the box office. Well, they forgot it. Hopefully, Harish Shankar did too. Too bad, Jr. NTR can't.

Presenting Zookeeper Allu Sirish

India's self acclaimed #1 movie buff/photographer/gadget freak/aspiring actor/producer/spot boy MEGA STYLISH POWER SUPER STAR KING ALLU SIRISH has been part of a recent controversy regarding the collections of Magadheera.

In a blog post that was later deleted YUVASAMRAT VICTORY SIRISH wrote his take on the box office stamina of Indian Cinema:

MEGASTAR ALLU SIRISH made it very clear on his own blog about the exact share of Magadheera. But records are meant to be broken. Obviously THALAPATHY ALLU SIRISH does not understand this. He began to inflate collections of Magadheera once Dookudu became the new industry hit in 2011. He later even deleted the post and started challenging fans.

Who wrote 58 crores as official share figure? Was it nobrain jeevi, 123telugu, or any other website. No it was given by COLLECTION KING SUPERSTAR ALLU SIRISH. He argues with us about his own figures and has no choice but to later delete the post to hide the figures. This is the result:

Or even this from a senior mega family fan:

Because of the mega fans/biased mega loving media the box office tracking of Telugu films has become an embarrassment. Using terms like "fixed hires", "overflow" which they do not even know the meaning of, mega fans have inflated the collections of Magadheera to a point where the share is higher than that of Dhoom 3, Chennai Express, Krrish 3, and the hollywood films Titanic and Avatar.

If mega fans want to blame anyone for the uncertainty of Magadheera collections they can blame the ALL TIME WORLDWIDE MEGAPOWERSUPERSTAR THALA SIRISH

123Telugu Article of the Day

The 123telugu editors and writers are quite excited it seems.

Hats Off to ABO's strategies

Govindudu Andarivaadele released and no one knows how the film is doing because Telugu box office sites absolutely suck and fans take 2 different extremes. But a great site to examine is Andhra Box Office - the king of excel sheets.

Being that it is the biggest Mega family supporter, the site should be ecstatic and should be regurgitating the wonderful collections. Unfortunately for them, things aren't going so well. In fact, their went from excitement to concern within hours.

With the disappointing 1st day numbers, they tried to damage control with the second day numbers.

They claim that Day 2 is "steady" and is expected to make 3.75 crores. But wait...it is a holiday.
On Day 2 of Aagadu, the site claimed the film slowed down with 3.3 crores AP/Nizam share and it is not good for the "High prices it was sold at". I even kept the unnecessary capitalization of the H in high to increase the dramatic effect.
So the difference between a holiday and a non-holiday is only 45 lakhs? Plus, for all the talk about Aagadu being sold at "High prices", ABO itself reported that GAV was sold for RECORD prices in some areas as seen here.

Despite all that, those were only estimates. Estimates based on what? Who knows? The "real" numbers are yet to be put up or even tweeted in some areas. It is okay though. It takes time for them to get creative on those spreadsheets. It takes a lot of effort to inflate these collections daily and sometimes its frustrating. So accidentally, their fanism for the Mega family completely came out and the whole act they put up as a leading professional box office site is gone in seconds.

Anyway, good luck to Andhra Box Office in their aspirations!

Countdown to GAV GFYs 3

Just two more days for Ram Charan's Govindudu Andarivaadele. Here is an GFY showing the outstanding expressions from Ram Charan and Ajmal Ameer from Racha. Hats off to their acting.

GAV - the Ultimate Family Film

Govindudu Andarivaadele is set out to be the ultimate family film. The US distributor decided to lower ticket prices so that all families can go see the film (not because no one in USA would go see a RCT movie in theaters).

As its a family entertainer, v want entire family to watch movie, so kept reasonable ticket prices. Million Dollars ave vacchesthaayi.

When RCT was asked in 123telugu's interview of why he wanted to do GAV, he said "After Magadheera, I was looking for a simple family oriented script". Well, the wonderful family film that families all over the world have been waiting for is coming and judging by the censor cut details, this film surely looks like what families have been dying for.

Arnold's Clueless Visit to India

Arnold Schwarzenegger came to India recently for the audio launch of "I" - Shankar's Tamil film and he publicly released his letter thanking the producer (from idlebrain.com)

Does he at least now know why he was even there? This letter is full of gas.

"I have been to the Oscars, and the Golden Globes, and every event you can imagine. Let me tell you something - they could all learn from how you stage a production"

He was so lost everywhere he went. In this interview, he isn't sure whether it is an audio launch or a premiere of the movie, he has notecards in his hand, and he pretty much refers to A. R. Rahman as the guy who won an Oscar for "Slamdog Millionaire".

This was literally his face throughout the whole audio function.

Until he probably saw this and got the crap scared out of him.
